Visit to Carlton Marshes SWT, got caught in some heavy rain but otherwise a pleasant sunny day.

Nothing exceptional seen but a good selection of different fauna were encountered.

A the start of our a walk a Cetti's Warbler showed, as usual mostly concealed. There were many Sedge Warblers singing. At least 3 Hobbies hawking over Peto's Marsh were my first for the year

Had several close encounters with Chinese Water deer, these seem quite unafraid of humans.

Small numbers of butterflies were seen including Peacock, Orange-tip, Green-veined Whites and a single Painted Lady. Only two species of Odonata were found Large Red and Variable Damselflies.
