Today I visited two SWT reserves, which I had not previously visited, in the hope of photographing some interesting butterflies and plants.


I first visited Market Weston fen where the Marsh Fritillaries  (of unknown origin) where still in flight.  I also found a Green Hairstreak.  Plants of interest  included Early Marsh Orchid 

subsp. ochroleuca and Butterwort.

At Winks Meadow my target species was Frog Orchid, with some difficulty I managed to find a single spike.  Many Green-winged Orchids were still flowering although they were passed their best.
